REGIONAL BANK REGRESSION ANALYSIS – HOMEOWNERSHIP INFLUENCERS

CHALLENGE:
A regional bank mortgage division was interested in developing a more strategic plan to fulfill their Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirement, but was unsure of the profile of the most viable target market.

 

SOLUTION:

Performed regression analyses on the zip codes of the target city to detect the independent variables that explain variation in homeownership. The research yielded that independent variables- employed civilians 16yrs+ (Sig - .010), income per household (Sig - .010), female (Sig - .000), high school graduate or higher (Sig - .000) and # of renters (Sig - .001) explained 90.1% of the variation in homeownership within a zip code- influences homeownership in the target city. The findings resulted in usage of a bank loan product and promotional strategies.

 

RESULTS:

The research based strategic plan led to the generation of ten million ($10,000,000.00) dollars in new loan production in a seven (7) month time span.
